| Webinar: Vicarious Traumatization |
Presented by Chaplain Mickey Stonier, Ph.D., C.T.R., C.T.S.S., a Certified Trauma Specialist, in conjunction with the National Family Justice Center Alliance, this popular webinar discusses the stress that caretakers endure with an emphasis on vicarious traumatization. Vicarious traumatization, characterized as the transformation that occurs within the trauma worker as a result of empathic engagement with clients’ trauma experiences and their sequelae, is highly relevant to those who work in the field of domestic violence. The webinar discusses signs, symptoms, and results of vicarious traumatization, as well as how to address the issues that arise from this condition.

| Publication: FJC Legal Network Strangulation Victim Log |
Created by the National Family Justice Center Alliance, the Strangulation Brochure contains information regarding strangulation injuries, and provides a grid which can be utilized to monitor signs and symptoms. Information recorded in the log may even become important as evidence in a trial. The brochure is currently used by the San Diego FJC Legal Network, which provides civil legal services to victims of domestic violence. |
| Presentation: FJC Models - The Challenge Ahead - Stopping DV Mass Murderers |
Presented by Casey Gwinn at the National District Attorney’s Association National Multi-Disciplinary Domestic Violence Conference in Salt Lake City, Utah in November of 2011, this presentation focuses on Stopping DV Mass Murderers. His presentation was built around the following premise: If domestic violence homicides are predictable, then domestic violence homicides are preventable. It is only a question of priorities, allocation of resources, and responsible use of all available information by a diverse group of multi-disciplinary professionals working in a Multi-Agency Team, High Risk Team, or Family Justice Center model. |
