The National Family Justice Center Alliance hosts student interns, on a quarterly basis, from across the United States and around the world. Interns come at their own expense and serve for designated periods of time working on programs and activities of the Alliance. Interns routinely hail their experience as powerful and life changing.
Internship Program and Job Description:
The Family Justice Center Alliance offers a unique opportunity to be involved with an exciting project that is rewarding and provides excellent work experience. In addition, the intern will have the ability to attend Family Court, City Council meetings, and domestic violence council meetings. The intern will assist with overall day-to-day operations of running an international, non-profit organization. Intern responsibilities include:
• Assisting the founding president, chief executive officer and staff with the Annual
FJC International Conference;
• Assisting with monthly meetings and events, such as webinar programs,
strategic planning meetings, and board meetings;
• Website development;
• Gathering best practice documents from FJCs;
• Research as assigned;
• Special projects as assigned
Job Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will possess the following minimum qualifications:
• Currently enrolled in a college or a university
• 21 years of age or older
• Commitment to the prevention of domestic violence
• Strong interpersonal skills
• Strong oral and written communication, organization and time management skills
• Ability to work independently
• Ability to effectively network in the community
• Ability to work with diverse people and attitudes
• Ability to speak effectively to individuals and groups
• Ability to function as a cooperative and effective team member
• Knowledge in basic computer word processing, email, internet and publishing software
• Must have a valid drivers license and auto insurance
• Ability to work twelve – forty hours per week for one semester/quarter
In addition to the above, international interns must have:
• Proof of health insurance
• Valid passport
• Valid visa, if applicable
Selection Process:

Please note that the internship is unpaid; course credit can be given if the intern makes appropriate arrangements.
