Kick-off conference in San Diego for the initiative. Eight representatives from each of the fifteen sites attend.

Technical assistance provided to each of the sites through site visits, conference calls, email, idea-sharing and networking with domestic violence professionals across the United States.
- January 11-12, 2005
Learning Exchange I: Based on the collaborative learning model used by the healthcare industry, PFJCI initiates a series of learning exchanges. This first is in Tampa, Floria. Four representatives are sent from each of the sites; each representative having a specific role to play in the development of the FJC (visionary, operational leader, strategic planner, and community-based advocate). Learning exchanges will repeat at 120-day intervals to create a collaborative learning experience among PFJCI sites.

Promising Practices: Saving Lives, Maximizing Resources is presented by the U.S. Department of Justice Office on Violence Against Women and the St. Joseph County Family Justice Center.

Ouachita Parish Family Justice Center (Monroe, LA) grand opening.
- November 1-3, 2005
Cultural Competency and Faith-Based Initiatives Conference is hosted by the U.S. Department of Justice Office on Violence Against Women, the Hennepin County Attorney's Office/Domestic Abuse Service Center, and Safe Havens Interfaith Partnership Against Domestic Violence in Minneapolis, MN. Representatives from each PFJCI site are required to attend.
