    Buncombe Co. Sheriff’s Office holds holiday gift drive for essential items for local youth

    BUNCOMBE COUNTY, N.C. (WLOS) — The Buncombe County Sheriff’s Office is holding its annual Holiday Gift Drive Dec. 9 and 10.

     

    The two-day event helps provide essential items to local organizations that serve those in need every day.

    “We want to brighten the holidays for our youth who may be living at Eliada Home or the Burrell Crisis Center, so we’ll be donating these items out to a number of organizations this coming Monday,” said Aaron Sarver, with Buncombe County Sheriff’s Office.

    MAKING THE HOLIDAYS BRIGHTER: HENDERSON COUNTY KICKS OFF FIRST ‘SHOP WITH A HERO’ EVENT

    Suggested donation items include:

    • Toothbrushes
    • Toothpaste
    • Soap
    • Deodorant
    • Pajama sets
    • Towels
    • School supplies
    • Winter clothing for kids

    The gift drive was held at Walmart, located at 1636 Hendersonville Road, until 6 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 9.

    BUNCOMBE COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE HOSTING HOLIDAY DRIVE DEC. 9-10; DONATION LIST HERE

    For those who couldn’t make it Thursday, the sheriff’s office will be back at Walmart Friday, Dec. 10, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. to accept donations.

    Organizations that will benefit from this drive include:

    • Caiyalynn Burrell Child Crisis Center
    • Eliada Home
    • Trinity House
    • Family Justice Center
    • Buncombe County Schools
    • My Daddy Taught Me That
    • My Sistah Taught Me That
