The Center for Family Justice recently named Trumbull resident Sofia De Carvalho as its new board of directors chairperson.
According to a news release provided by the Bridgeport-based center, De Carvalho also serves as bilingual vice president at M&T Bank. She succeeds outgoing chairperson Matt Reale.
De Carvalho has been involved with CFJ since 2014, most recently as board vice chair.
She has already done an incredible amount of work for CFJ and its clients, including organizing Festival of Hope, a fundraiser held in Trumbull each May, and tri-chairing the organization’s biggest annual fundraiser, Speaking of Women, in September, according to CFJ.
“Sofia truly believes in making her community better and is always willing to lend a helping hand,” the release reads. “We are grateful to Sofia for taking on this responsibility, and for her continued support over the past decade.”
Among CFJ’s new slate of officers is Vice Chair Kristin Okesson, SVP of Connoisseur Media, and Treasurer Michael Lyngaas. Scott Redfern is also returning as CFJ Board Secretary.
