The Chattanooga City Council voted Tuesday to rename the Chattanooga Hamilton County Family Justice Center in honor of late City Councilmember Dr. Carol Berz.
Councilwoman Carol Berz, who passed away in December, was the driving force behind the establishment and a major advocate of its founding principles.
“There would be no Family Justice Center without Carol Berz, and I want to thank City Council for appropriately honoring Carol’s memory by naming the Center after her,” Mayor Tim Kelly says.
The center serves residents of Hamilton County and the City of Chattanooga by addressing the following: intimate partner and family violence, the abuse of older adults through the elder justice services, and human trafficking.
