KTVB-BOISE — Community leaders gathered Thursday night to help victims of domestic violence, sexual assault, child and elder abuse.
The “Show Your Faces” event raised money for the FACES Family Justice Center.
The center provides emergency services like hotel vouchers, emergency gas cards, transportation and more to victims of abuse.
Part of the fundraiser featured a presentation aimed at helping people understand the impact of these crimes on the community.
FACES Client Services Coordinator Tamara Pittz stressed that anyone can be a victim of abuse and violence.
“It can affect any race, any age, any lifestyle, any culture,” she said. “It can affect their neighbor or their own person, and we may not even know who it is affecting,” she said.
Thursday’s event was the first year for “Show Your Faces,” but Pittz said she was pleased with the turnout and plans to continue the fundraiser next year.
If you or someone you know is a victim of abuse, you can contact FACES from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at 577-4400, or call the crisis line anytime at 208-343-7025. The FACES Family Justice Center is located at 417 6th Street in Boise.
