Teen Relationship Violence

Download Webinar Handouts

Presented by Juley Fulcher and hosted by the Alliance in May of 2012, this webinar provides information on how to understand and prevent teen relationship violence at your Family Justice Center. Teen dating violence is an urgent, silent epidemic. One in three teens will experience abuse in a dating relationship and more than two-thirds of them will never report it to anyone. Juley Fulcher, JD., the Director of Policy Programs for Break the Cycle, discusses how Family Justice Centers can engage, educate, and empower youth to build lives and communities free from domestic violence. Juley provides an overview on how Teen Relationship Violence differs from Adult Interpersonal Violence, including how technology plays a role in perpetuating the violence. Juley also provides key points on how to effectively provide youth services in your local Family Justice Center while recognizing the laws that impact working with this population.
